This week as I am getting ready for the Social Media Marketing Workshop 101 I am concentrating on some of the details of online marketing. Some of these tips may seem obvious to the seasoned online marketer but it is surprising how often these are overlooked and they are usually very easy to implement. I’ve written before about the importance of claiming your Google Places and it is something every location based business should do. The great thing about Google Places is that it is like a second website. Google gives it to you for FREE and once you are there and someone is nearby searching for what you have you will show up on their search. Once your future customer has found your Google Place you can:
- Link them to your website
- Give them your phone number
- Link to a menu
- Give them driving directions
- Give them a free coupon
- Show photos of your merchandise, menu or handsome staff
- Give them your operating hours
- Show Google Places in the “Contact Us & Directions” section of your website.
- Show reviews
There are a lot of cool things that can be done with Google Places and Google Maps. Take a look at this map we made for a benefit for Country Doctors Community Health Clinics. The thing about Google Places is that your business is probably already there but if you haven’t claimed it you do not have any control. Take control, claim your Google Places and start attracting customers.
